The Problem: The NHS is in crisis and needs fixing quickly.
The Solution: An NHS taskforce inspired by the Vaccine Taskforce.
The biggest challenge facing the UK is how to fix the NHS. The organisation beloved by the people of Britain is in crisis, swallowing an ever-larger amount of government spend while waiting lists grow longer and excess deaths continue to rise.
Change needs to happen, and it needs to happen quickly, but government as-is has shown itself to be incapable of delivering that change.

Taking inspiration from the Vaccine Taskforce established during Covid, which delivered a ‘Moonshot’ solution to develop, manufacture and distribute millions of vaccines, which many people said was impossible, I propose creating an NHS Taskforce.
The NHS Taskforce would be setup along the same lines as the Vaccine Taskforce, with an industry expert brought in to head it up, who is given powers and resources required to rapidly fix the NHS.
The Taskforce would deliver a rapid assessment of why the NHS is failing and develop a strategy to fix it, then execute that strategy with the same determination and speed they did with the vaccines.
Crucially, this proposal suggests guaranteeing to maintain the NHS budget – the taskforce’s role would be to ensure that budget was spent in the most efficient and effective way possible, providing high quality healthcare, rapid medical response, and high-quality working conditions and pay for NHS staff.
High-quality modern healthcare is possibly the greatest improvement in human living standards ever achieved. It is therefore vital that we provide the best possible care and support for Britain by reforming the NHS.
The idea of the NHS is phenomenal, and the organisation has been rightly adored by most Britons for decades, but the NHS of today is a shell of what it used to be.
It’s time to change that and to regain the NHS’ crown as the world’s best health service.
We need an NHS Taskforce to do just that, and to do it fast – it is the only way we can succeed.
